"From age ten until 2003, the art I lived was ballet. I trained and danced professionally, went on to create ballets, embellish costumes, produce performances, and train young aspirants for professional ballet careers. Through all of my dance years, I was drawn to fabrics, enthralled by texture, color, and pattern, and every time I got near a fabric store, my collection of colorful snippets grew. "
"I still have a few of those now-ancient pieces. All of my time before 2003 was gladly given to my family and career, leaving little time for other activities. Now every day I play in my ever-expanding fabric stash, exploring in one direction and then another. Sometimes I love what I put together and sometimes not, but the pleasure of working with fabric is always present. There is ever and always a new way to put two pieces of material together - vertically, horizontally, diagonally, with different threads, with different colors, for different purposes, for no purpose, forever magic, forever exciting, forever a mystery of touch, of sight."
