It's a Beautiful Day!
It's a put the “shoulds” aside day!
I grab my camera and sketch pad and head out.
Its late afternoon, so there will be wonderful shadows cast over the water, in the mountain crevices, and in a myriad of outlined shapes in the fields and woods.
As I click to capture the “now” or quickly sketch (always racing with changing shadows), my memory absorbs the magic and music of the moment.
Later, I stand before my canvas daring to record that experience. The excitement comes as it begins to happen, the magic and the music return!
Although I work with watercolor and pastel also, I prefer working in oils. I'm primarily self-taught, but have attended workshops taught by Charles Gruppe`, Albert Handel, Charles Savek, and Susan Sarvac
