"I paint because I find it challenging to put life and beauty, as I see them, on a piece of paper or canvas. It is exciting to start with an idea and work through to the finished product that tells the viewer a story. When I paint, I feel relaxed, energized and focused, and it is easy for me to forget time. I use mixed media such as watercolor and acrylic. I enjoy working on still life, flower and landscape paintings as well as collage."

"Over the years, I have studied extensively with Carry Burns Brown at the Greenville, SC, Museum Art School, with Jean Purdy Lindabury of the Phoenix School of Art in Hendersonville, NC, as well as attending workshops taught by Sue Connor, Robert Burrage, Ted Minchen, and other well-known artists. My works are in a number of private collections."
